Carey Haan joined Carmel Christian School in August 2007. Her educational experience includes teaching elementary school, middle school, and high school ESL. While teaching, she earned her Masters of Education in School Counseling from Liberty University. Her oldest son graduated from Carmel Christian School in 2018 and is attending college. Her youngest son is a student in the high school. She enjoys getting to know the students, their families, and how she can best serve them. She thrives on her interactions with others to help guide them in the decision-making process of choosing classes that will help them obtain their post high school goals. In addition, she loves guiding students on how to take on a more active role in their education by teaching self-advocacy. As a parent, she fully embraces the role parents play in the decision-making process. She is grateful to have parental support as she helps students transition to taking on a more active role in their education and becoming more responsible members of our school and local community. The best part of Carey’s job is spending time with the students, encouraging them, and reminding them that their identity is rooted in Christ.
