Carmel Christian School aims to help students enhance their God given gifts and develop their talents to serve the world as witnesses to Christ. The uniqueness of each child, as an image bearer of God, is prized and nurtured by providing opportunities to explore Creation through a comprehensive, rigorous, relevant, and individualized curriculum at every grade level. Students are taught to strive for excellence in all they do, including academics, fine arts, athletics, and extra-curricular activities according to 1 Corinthians 10:31, whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
The academic curriculum is Christ-centered with students being the primary focus of instruction, learning, and assessment. Students are presented with opportunities to understand how they learn, communicate effectively using multi-modes of communication, creatively problem solve by critically evaluating information using critical thinking skills, and provided a safe environment to experiment and learn from failure. Scientific thinking and methodology are taught and reinforced throughout their experience at CCS. In addition, students are given the freedom to channel their curiosity about the Created world they live in through science labs, engineering type classes, and research opportunities. Technology is woven into the curriculum and instruction in all areas of academia without sacrificing the value and experience of traditional learning techniques, such as handwriting, math computation without a calculator, memorization, and public speaking. The skills are taught and strengthened at every grade level.
The curriculum, consisting of content and skills, scaffolds in complexity throughout the K-12 program making an education at Carmel Christian School, a well-rounded, college preparatory experience, focused on Christ and partnering with parents to provide an excellent education for their children.
