I commend you for considering the start of your child’s Christian education during the elementary years. According to the Barna Research Group, “by the age of 9, a person’s moral foundation is generally in place. And by the time they turn 13, their worldview is practically set in stone.” Here at Carmel Christian School, we are committed to making the most of these critical years by instilling in our youngest students the vision and practice of excellence in academics, character and service to the glory of God from an early age.
What I have discovered here at CCS is that our people, especially our children’s teachers, are our greatest asset. Their love for the children and passion for seeing them improve in learning and life is a sight to see. They are the “living curriculum” who will model for the students – not only how to properly read, write and do arithmetic, but how to be a disciple of Christ in the twenty-first century. To make the greatest impact, we seek to accomplish this in the most excellent manner.
You are invited to come and tour our classrooms to see for yourselves all that God is doing on our campus. I would enjoy the opportunity to meet you as you become more acquainted with our school.
In His Service,
Elementary School Principal
Our students attend chapel every week on Thursdays by grade level. Kindergarten through second grade students attend Chapel first thing in the morning at 8:45 am. Third through fifth graders love to worship through song, testimonies and special speakers at 9:45 am. A variety of speakers and special emphasis programs are scheduled throughout the year appropriate for each grade.
Missions are part of our lifestyle. Each class participates in a mission project during the school year. Students have an opportunity to participate in local and international missions. In previous years, students have packed meals for Stop Hunger Now, gathered food for the Church in the City Ministry and much more.
The mission of the Carmel Media Center is to help the students, staff, and Carmel community become effective users of ideas and information. We do this by providing relevant resources to support and enhance the educational program at Carmel Christian School.
We seek to encourage a culture of reading which exposes students to a variety of authors, genres and topics for their personal enrichment, spiritual growth and enjoyment. well as teaching students how to navigate the world of information in the 21st century.
